Artomatic 2012

I'm spreading the word about Artomatic, which returns this year with a bigger space than ever before and opens to the public on Friday evening. My artwork is located on the 9th floor in space #212, near the Peeps!

I am always excited about Artomatic because it's soooo much fun, but also because I'm debuting 3 brand new steel and glass sculptures. This is a relatively new focus for me, and I have spent the past year and a half learning the skills of glass and metal work in order to create these pieces. It's quite a turn from my Holga photography of years' past, and I intend to take this new body of work even further as I continue to learn and hone my skills.

A couple of key Artomatic events are listed below, but there are many more fun things to experience listed on AOM's web site.

Artomatic Opens This Friday!

Artomatic

55 M Street SE, Washington, DC 20003
Located directly above the West Entrance of the Navy Yard Metro Stop, located conveniently on the Green Line.

Opens May 29 and runs through July 5th.
Hours:
W-TH Noon-10pm
F-Sat: Noon-1 am
Sun: Noon-6 pm

In case you couldn't tell from the photo of my space, I will be exhibiting 9 of my Route 66 Holga photos. I have shown a few of them in various exhibits, but half of them are making their debut here at AOM. Leave a comment in my book and tell me what you think.

The opening party will be this Friday... so come on out! With over 700 visual artists and a couple hundred performing artists, it will be a blast for sure. I am on the 9th floor just off the elevators, but be sure to check out all 9 floors of art. It's a lot to take in all at once, so I recommend multiple trips. It's free, so you have no excuses!

About Me

My photo
I am a sculptor, photographer, and mixed media artist based in the Washington, DC metro area. I sculpt with steel and glass, and enjoy people and holga / alternative processes photography best, although I experiment with many different subjects and media where I find them.

do you hear what i hear?
